About Triathlon
Triathlon was developed in the 1970s and became an olympic sport in 2000.

Triathlon consists of 3 sports - swim, bike and run- performed in a continuous effort at various distances.

On the shorter end are friendly community 'tri-a-trys' and sprint triathlons. These are the distances we have in Peace River.

Getting into endurance sports - Olympic distance is double a sprint, half Ironman 4x sprint and full Ironman 8x a sprint (approximately)

Want to participate but don't like all 3 sports? Sign up with friends for a relay!

Kids of Steel

The Kids of Steel program is a great way to get kids active. Doing 3 different sports helps balance growing muscles. Participation in sport helps build confidence and promotes lifelong physical fitness in youth.

The race course for kids 11 and under will be totally separate from traffic.

An adult can support young children in the pool, in transition and on the course.

Floatation aids (eg life jackets and flutter boards) are encouraged if needed as are training wheels / balance bikes. Helmets are mandatory for all ages.

We had 46 children participate with 25 sponsored spots in 2026 and would love to have even more in future years!
